OPEN STUDIOS SPRING
21.03.2024
For this edition, Artist Communities slipped into the Open Studios and offered an encounter between our residents Quinn Latimer and Elvia Wilk. In the first part, the two writers shared an excerpt from the text they worked on during their residency here at La Becque, and then opened up a discussion about the creative tools that underlie their project.
British-Canadian product designer and interior architect Philippe Malouin, in residence at La Becque as part of our partnership with ECAL/Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne, which allows an international guest artist to carry out a personal project at La Becque while teaching at ECAL for an entire semester, showed a selection of his latest creations in our library.
Freshly landed at La Becque as part of our new partnership with Plateforme 10 in Lausanne, French artist Charlie Malgat presented her latest research in her studio apartment.
Senegalese artist Saliou Diop, a Pro Helvetia residency laureate, invited the public to discover an installation with a work made from found objects and salvaged materials during his three-month residency.
Finally, South African dancer, choreographer and researcher Tiran Willemse, a 2024 Principal Residency Program laureate, presented a new performance in our garden, centered on the theme of fire.
