Join us on Wednesday July 13 for a listening session of the audio documentary produced by Alexandra Valahu, as part of her Mise en Place residency, a research residency program proposed by Deli Social in Lausanne.
How does climate change affect fungi? How can we be more attentive to the shifting of our local ecosystems? Could these disturbances disrupt food chains?
Instead of seeking to arrive at a resolution, this audio documentary tends toward an exploration of the precariousness and resilience of mushrooms and their collaboration with our food systems.
To understand fungi as an embodiment of their biotope – a soil’s constitution, a season’s temperatures, and the symbiotic relationships it forms—is to understand the decomposition and renewal of an ecosystem. Without fungi, we have no forests or trees. And without trees or soil, we have no food or viable land. A l’oeil nu is an invitation to become aware of the role of fungi in our environment and to slow down.
