Joëlle Dorigo & Pauline Lemberger (FR)
Residency period: September 2023
Drawing on their own experiences of motherhood, Lemberger and Dorigo used their month-long residency at La Becque to work on transmission and experiment with recipes using methods, techniques, and rituals from the tradition of the golden month, i.e., the period of recuperation, resilience, and celebration that follows the birth of a child.
Born in 1953 and based in Poitiers, Joëlle Dorigo is a French restaurateur who retired in 2018. After studying literature, ancient Greek, and Latin, she travelled extensively, notably in North Africa. She was then head chef for over thirty years at the restaurant La Tartignolle in Poitiers, which hosted many artists and musicians from all over the world.
Based in Brussels, Pauline Lemberger (born 1992 in Lausanne) is a French chef, product designer, and entrepreneur who trained in industrial design at ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne. In 2015, she founded Bouchée Double, a studio which allows her to explore the world of gastronomy from many angles, from the design of utensils in collaboration with craftspeople to the creation of menus for events, illustrations, and culinary installations.
