La Becque and the Kunstverein SALTS celebrate the closing of their joint exhibition What Sinks Still Sings with a two-part evening: a performance at City SALTS in Birsfelden, followed by a party at the Kaschemme club in Basel.
Conceived by La Becque at the invitation of SALTS, What Sinks Still Sings weaves a dialogue between two shores — that of Lake Geneva and that of the Birs River — with water as a guiding thread, a metaphor for movement, memory, and narratives in tension. Curated by Vanessa Cimorelli, the exhibition brings together works by Invernomuto & Low Jack, Samir Laghouati-Rashwan, Zahra Malkani, Davi Pontes, Ventura Profana, and Caroline Ricca Lee.
On Saturday, November 8, current resident Caroline Ricca Lee will present a performance at City SALTS in collaboration with Thi My Lien Nguyen, a Swiss-Vietnamese artist and photographer. The evening will then continue with a collective walk along the river toward Kaschemme, where the night unfolds with DJ and live sets by STILL and Palm Wine (together known as Invernomuto), Low Jack, Chaos Clay, and nightingale (live).
