EMMANUEL CRIVELLI (CH)
Residency period: July 2022
Art director and graphic designer Emmanuel Crivelli explores the editorial world by questioning paper and digital formats. After his studies in graphic design at ECAL, he worked with Philippe Jarrigeon and Sylvain Menétrey for the magazine Dorade – « Revue galante, photographie et formes critiques », which won the Swiss Design Awards in 2012. In collaboration with an editorial team, he then created POV Paper and POV Magazine, two publishing project which deal with gender and sexualities. In 2018, he won a mandate from the Federal Office of Culture to create the visual identity of the Swiss Design Awards, implementing a design concept that remained in place through 2021. The project became a digital editorial content lab, featuring interactive articles, talks and live chats with nominees and laureates of the yearly award competition.
At la Becque, Emmanuel Crivelli continued his research into new media formats and to lay the foundations for a new editorial project.
