The Rocking Chair in Vevey (RKC) and La Becque are teaming up to celebrate immersive and powerful music with two key acts from the post-rock, jazz, and electronic scenes: Coby Sey and Natural Information Society, performing in trio and quartet formations for this special occasion.
A major figure of the British underground, Coby Sey crafts bold, post-genre soundscapes blending hip-hop, grime, noise, jazz, and dub. Both intimate and political, his music blurs the lines between acoustic and electronic, word and silence. A distinctive artist and frequent collaborator of Mica Levi, Tirzah, and Laurel Halo, Sey will be joined on stage by Ben Vince (saxophone) and Sébastien Forrester (drums and vibraphone) for a live set rooted in experimentation and deep listening — a rare appearance in Switzerland.
Led by composer and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Abrams, Natural Information Society is a cornerstone of the American jazz and experimental scene. For this fall tour, the group focuses on its core lineup: Abrams (guembri), Lisa Alvarado, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Jason Stein. Drawing on trance-based musical traditions (Gnaoua, Hindustani classical, spiritual jazz), their sound blends hypnotic repetition, polyrhythmic grooves, and microtonal textures into a unique sensorial journey. Their performances are accompanied by Lisa Alvarado’s vibrant paintings, turning each concert into a fully immersive visual and sonic experience.
