Sabine Hess & Nicolas Polli (CH)
Residency period: September 2024
The One Bed, Two Blankets project was built by photographer Sabine Hess (1994) and photographer and graphic designer Nicolas Polli (1989). The artist duo met during a residency program in Ticino’s Val Verzasca region, and began collaborating on the project. Joining their respective photography practices, Hess and Polli question the perception and challenges of living together, as well as the expected patterns of a relationship, in a humorous and experimental way. It’s when they move in together that the couple confront the challenges of living together. One Bed, Two Blankets reflects on the complexities of living and being vulnerable together. The project, rooted in the intimate, becomes universal and reaches a wide audience.
Thanks to the support of Nestlé, Images Vevey offers Hess and Polli the opportunity to continue and develop their current project. The artists will be present on a daily basis to welcome the public and present the evolution of their project during the 2024 edition of the Biennale Images Vevey.
