Vera van de Seyp (NL, 1993)
Residency period: February-June 2026
Based in Rotterdam, Vera van de Seyp is a computational designer, artist, and educator working at the intersection of graphic design and code. Her practice centres on generative design systems, experimental typography, and custom tools that explore how computation can shape visual language. It spans both digital and physical outputs, including experimental websites, web-based tools, printed matter, creative coding events, and textiles produced with a hacked knitting machine.
She has collaborated with clients such as WIRED, Signal, and Google Arts & Culture, as well as with cultural and academic institutions, translating complex ideas into accessible visual artefacts. She regularly teaches, lectures, and leads workshops internationally, encouraging others to create their own tools.
During her residency at La Becque, in parallel with teaching and lecturing at ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, she will develop a new body of work reflecting her ongoing research into craft and computation.
